Jeremy KiddPresented by Imago GalleriesPhotographer Jeremy Kidd has a remarkable, eye-catching, and memorable method for exploring transcendental urban landscapes. According to Kidd, it seems unrealistic to expect a single photographic shot, a single moment in time, to convey the human experience of seeing. He believes we visually explore our environment in the third and fourth dimensions as we build our personal visual journey.

His unique photographic technique is explained – compositing up to 100 long exposures into a single piece, is a more cohesive way of expressing the filmic. It allows Kidd to explore movement and condensed time and lends itself to his concerns with exemplifying the transcendental and the essence of place, in the urban/landscape.

Though he is not directly referencing (Hudson River School Painters), Kidd draws parallels with his methods and his photos have the often-transcendental qualities that are encountered in their landscapes. However, he does aim to extol something of this Hudson River School within the urban context – An “urbanized Idealism”.

Kidd presents a condensed vision of multiple photographs as a metaphor for repeated perceptual glances. He engages the viewer by conveying an animated experience of the dynamic urban infrastructure.

Mr. Kidd is currently represented by Imago Galleries.
